The province of Brescia was hit by heavy rainstorms during the night between Saturday and Sunday, causing widespread flooding throughout the area. The Fire Department carried out around a hundred interventions, focusing particularly on the area around Lake Garda and Valtenesi. In Manerba, a woman was saved by a passerby after her car was submerged in water. In San Felice, the Rio Verde overflowed, causing a wall to collapse on the road from Raffa di Puegnago. Problems with overflowing were also reported in Cologne with the Miola stream.
In the city, the heavy rains caused leaks at the Passo Gavia nursery school, compromising the electrical system and requiring the intervention of the local police. The adverse weather conditions led to the cancellation of several sports events, including the Provincial Athletics Championship in Sanpolino. The lake levels rose rapidly: Lake Garda saw a significant increase in water level, going from +132 cm to +139 cm above the hydrological zero point in just a few hours. The Sebino lake also recorded an increase, reaching 106 cm with a filling level of 97.9%.
