On August 24 at 9:00 PM, the Courtyard of the Palazzo Pastore will transform into a stage for a highly anticipated musical event: the concert “Piano for Four Hands – Invitation to Dance.” This performance features the duo composed of Sergio Marchegiani and Marco Schiavo, who have established themselves since 2006 as one of the most esteemed ensembles in the international music scene.
A Duo of Renowned Fame
Marchegiani and Schiavo have captivated audiences and critics alike with their distinctive style, marked by natural musicality, enchanting sounds, and energetic interpretations. With nearly 1,000 concerts under their belt worldwide, they have performed in some of the most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Philharmonie and Konzerthaus in Berlin, as well as the renowned Musikverein in Vienna. Their performances have also taken them to cities such as Rome, Paris, Moscow, and Tokyo.
Recent Recording Projects
The duo recently released the complete works for piano four hands by Mozart. This recording was made at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and is available on two CDs through Decca, released in 2021 and 2023. Additionally, Marchegiani and Schiavo have collaborated with national and international radio and television broadcasters, further spreading their music.
Since 2022, the two artists have also been collaborating with actor Michele Placido in the show “The Doppelgänger: Public and Private Life of Franz Schubert, Musician,” further expanding their artistic endeavors.
Event Details
In case of bad weather, the event will be moved to the Teatro Sociale to ensure the performance can take place. Admission to the concert is free.
