The futurist art exhibition “Futurist World” will open at the Castle of Desenzano on May 4, 2025, offering visitors a comprehensive overview of the futurist movement. Curated by Giordano Bruno Guerrini and Matteo Vanzan, the exhibition aims to explore not only the aesthetics of futurism but also its profound influence on various artistic and cultural fields since its inception with Filippo Tommaso Marinetti’s manifesto in 1909. Set in a medieval castle, the exhibition will create a dialogue between modernity and tradition, showcasing over 50 iconic and unpublished works spanning from 1901 to 1943, including renowned pieces by artists such as Umberto Boccioni and Gaetano Previati.
The exhibition path will include significant works like Boccioni’s “Unique Forms of Continuity in Space” and Previati’s “The Baptism of Humanity,” along with historical texts related to the movement. The exhibition is promoted by the Cultural Department of the Municipality of Desenzano and is sponsored by various local and national cultural institutions. This event represents an important opportunity to reflect on the ongoing relevance of futurism in contemporary art, within the fascinating historical context of the Castle.
