The Olive Oil Garda DOP Award returns on March 13, featuring a new edition dedicated to students from hospitality schools in the regions of Veneto, Lombardy, and Trentino. This competition, promoted by the Garda DOP Olive Oil Protection Consortium in collaboration with the Brescia Chefs Association and Italia a Tavola, aims to enhance local food and wine culture through the creation of dishes that highlight the characteristics of Garda DOP olive oil. Students will be required to prepare a dish using the oil both in cooking and raw, thus demonstrating their culinary skills and their ability to convey the essence of the product to the judges.
The award ceremony will take place on March 29, 2025, at 10:30 AM in the Council Chamber of the former Monte di Pietà Palace in San Felice del Benaco. During the competition, participants will be evaluated not only on their technical abilities but also on how well they present and communicate the unique features of Garda DOP olive oil, potentially becoming ambassadors of the culinary traditions of the Garda region.
