The ASD Garda Karate Team organized the third edition of the Garda Lake Cup on Sunday, April 7th, which was also the fourth stage of the 14th CSEN Lombardy Trophy. The competition took place at the Palazzetto in Castenedolo and was a success both in terms of organization and the results achieved by the athletes.
The day began with official greetings from the Deputy Mayor of Castenedolo, Eugenia Tononi, and the Sports Councilor, Alberto Belpietro, both enthusiastic about hosting such an important event and thanking the Garda Karate Team for their commitment to promoting healthy sports.
During the morning, Regional Councilor Diego Invernici was also present, expressing his gratitude for being invited to the competition and showing his support for the world of sports and amateur sports associations.
Before the competitions began, the referees wanted to congratulate Gaia Maffizzoli from the Garda Karate Team, who received the national CSEN diploma, becoming a second-level official. A great achievement for Gaia and a source of pride for the entire team.
During the event, visibility was also given to the “Fallo col cuore” Association, which raises awareness about the practice of cardiac massage and the use of defibrillators. Paolo and Erica from the association had the opportunity to talk about their mission and thank everyone for their support.
Next to the main tatami mats, another smaller one was set up, where some children from three preschools participated in the Yuuki Karate Game, a karate initiation project supported by some sponsors. It was exciting to see such young children confidently tackling the course and balloon. Applause to the children, their families, and the teachers who accompanied them in this experience.
Throughout the day, tests were carried out on six different tatami mats: balloon and course for the youngest, kumite, kata for all ages, and integrated karate with its special athletes. The Garda Karate Team had the participation of 80 of its athletes and achieved excellent results:
– First place in kumite
– Second place in integrated karate
– Second place in balloon-course
– Second place in the overall ranking
The athletes of the Garda Karate Team won a total of 23 gold medals, 23 silver medals, and 19 bronze medals. It was an intense but emotionally fulfilling day.
