On October 23, a session of the Environment and Territory Commission of the Lombardy Region took place, during which motion no. 10/2023 was discussed, presented by councilor Paola Pollini from the Five Star Movement. The central topic revolved around the wastewater treatment plants in Garda and the revision of the operational agreement for collection and treatment works. Pollini expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome of the meeting, emphasizing that, although there was consensus on some crucial aspects such as the separation of collection and treatment activities by province, a more incisive debate is necessary before the project enters the execution phase.
The councilor pointed out that the current project has not considered valid alternatives, leading to a situation where the plan risks becoming difficult to modify in the future. Despite the Commission’s commitment to further explore the issue through additional meetings, Pollini reiterated the importance of reviewing the technical-financial feasibility project before the commencement of work, deeming it essential to ensure adequate and sustainable solutions for the municipalities of Garda.
