Garda Trentino CleanUP Days: an initiative for cleaning up the territory
From April 26th to 28th, the Garda Trentino CleanUP Days will take place, providing an opportunity to take care of the territory and contribute to its cleanliness. During these four days, residents and visitors of Garda Trentino are invited to collect waste and participate in informative sessions and workshops.
The initiative is open to everyone and the process is simple: participants can join individually or in groups, choosing a location or route for their cleanup efforts. The details of each cleanup action are recorded on an interactive map called the CleanUP Map, so that everyone can see which places have already been cleaned or join an ongoing cleanup action. The map also provides suggestions for locations and routes where cleanup efforts would be particularly useful.
Each participant is provided with a CleanUP Kit, which includes a reusable bag made of recycled PP and a stainless steel clamp. The kit can be obtained from one of the distribution points indicated on the CleanUP Map. Additionally, the interactive map also indicates the points for disposing of the collected waste.
For those who prefer to join a guided CleanUP, several events are planned throughout the territory. For example, on April 26th, there will be a guided CleanUP along the shores of Lake Garda, during which the students of Class IVA Scienze Applicate of Liceo Maffei will share their project “Polymers and Plastics” and demonstrate their activity of monitoring microplastics in water. On April 27th, there will be a CleanUP organized by the Municipality of Fiavé and Pro Loco to clean up the village and its surroundings.
Moreover, guided CleanUPs are also planned in other locations such as Arco, Ranzo, Monte Brione, Valle dei Laghi, Valle di Ledro, Tenno, and Cavedine. Each guided CleanUP offers an opportunity to learn about the work carried out by associations and organizations to keep Garda Trentino clean.
During the initiative, participants can enter a contest by uploading a photo of their CleanUP on social media with the hashtag #grabitandtagit. Participants will have the chance to win one of the prizes provided by the sponsors of the initiative.
The Garda Trentino CleanUP Days are a tangible way to give back to the territory that offers us endless opportunities for outdoor sports and relaxation in nature. Participating in this initiative means taking care of our environment and contributing to its preservation. You can find more information about the event here.
