Gardone Riviera has recently established itself as one of the eleven Italian excellences in waste separation, showcasing its results during the 9th International Congress on the Knowledge Economy (GCKE-2024) in Singapore. Stefano Ambrosini, a representative of Waste Management Specialist s.r.l. and former municipal administrator, presented the progress of waste separation projects launched over the past decade in various Italian municipalities, including Gardone Riviera. He highlighted the comparison with international initiatives and emphasized the interest in the Italian model of circular economy.
During the presentation, Ambrosini provided historical data demonstrating that it is possible to achieve significant results in waste separation and reduce waste production even in municipalities of different sizes. In the analyzed municipalities, the reduction of unsorted waste reached an average of 70%, while the rate of separated waste collection saw an average increase of 263%, confirming the effectiveness of the strategies implemented in the region.
