The search for a 44-year-old man who went missing after diving into Lake Garda continues tirelessly in Gargnano. The incident occurred on June 22, 2024, when some Austrian tourists noticed the man in distress and immediately alerted the authorities. The operations are being coordinated by the Coast Guard of Lake Garda, with support from the Finance Guard, Firefighters, and Volunteers of Garda.
Despite adverse weather conditions, the search teams are using patrol boats, naval vehicles, and divers to scan the area where the man was last seen. The man’s boat has been recovered and transferred to the port of Gargnano for further investigation by the Carabinieri. The search will continue today, employing sonar and ROVs to explore depths exceeding 200 meters.
