A gasoline spill has been reported in the Madonna del Rio canal in Salò, potentially originating from an underground fuel tank. The incident has created a strong odor in the Via dei Colli area, prompting the Fire Brigade to request the intervention of technicians from the Brescia department of Arpa Lombardia. According to preliminary investigations, the leak may be linked to a service station located near the SS 45 bis Gardesana Occidentale road.
Authorities have immediately initiated measures to contain the pollution of surface waters, collaborating with the service station operator and the Municipality. Currently, further investigations are underway regarding the involved tank, along with sampling to analyze the nature of the spill and its potential environmental impacts.
