Within the framework of checks and actions to combat waste abandonment and improper disposal carried out by law enforcement agencies, a total of 28 violations have been recorded since the beginning of the year by the local police force in Valle Sabbia. Of these, 18 have been identified specifically in the Gavardo area.
Local authorities are working to tackle the issue of waste abandonment using new tools, such as hidden cameras known as “fototrappole.” These cameras have been purchased thanks to recent funding obtained by the local police force. The use of fototrappole has enabled authorities to identify and penalize those who illegally abandon waste in the area.
The collaboration between the local police, municipal offices, and volunteers operating in the area has been crucial in achieving these results. Thanks to this synergy, inspections have been intensified, and individuals responsible for violations have been identified.
Waste abandonment represents a serious environmental problem that damages the image of the territory and compromises the quality of life for citizens.
