Over the weekend, Gavardo inaugurated a photographic exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the bombing on January 29, 1945, one of the most devastating events in local history that resulted in 52 casualties. The initiative, promoted by the municipal administration, saw the participation of several notable figures, including Mayor Davide Comaglio and Giovanmaria Flocchini, President of the Vallesabbia Mountain Community. Scholar Maria Paola Pasini provided historical context, while Deputy Mayor Ombretta Scalmana and Engineer Andrea Pasini shared details about the origins of initiatives dedicated to the historical memory of the event.
The exhibition is organized into two paths: one at the Bruni Conter Hall of the MAVS, which includes a section for children, and display panels located in Piazza Marconi and Piazza De Medici, the sites affected by the bombing. These spaces were significantly different from how they appear today. The exhibition will remain open to the public until Sunday, February 2, providing an important opportunity to reflect on a crucial chapter in the history of Gavardo.
