On the morning of Tuesday, the 28th, the forces of the **GDF** conducted a significant operation against **drug trafficking**, resulting in the arrest of 12 individuals linked to an international network involved in drug dealing between Milan and Verona. The operation led to the seizure of nearly 200 kilograms of narcotics, including approximately 83 kilograms of cocaine and 103 kilograms of hashish, concealed in deceptive packaging of sweet snacks. The investigations were initiated following the arrest of a Moroccan courier in September 2023, who attempted to flee during a check.
The inquiry revealed that the cocaine was coming from Northern Europe via modified vehicles, while the hashish was distributed from garages in the Milanese hinterland. The criminal network is attributed to the so-called **Mocro-Mafia**, predominantly composed of North African individuals, with proceeds managed through an informal system known as “hawala.” This operation highlights the authorities’ commitment to combating drug trafficking and monitoring the financial flows associated with these illicit activities.
