Navigazione Laghi, the organization supervised by the Ministry of Transport, and the Policlinico of Milan have entered into a framework agreement to combat and prevent gender-based violence. The main objective is to train and raise awareness among all company personnel involved in public lake transportation on this important issue.
According to Istat, there is increasing talk about violence against women today, but unfortunately, prejudices against the victims still persist. It is essential to intervene to counter this entrenched culture of prejudice. Navigazione Laghi has chosen to do so by informing and training the women and men working within the company, creating awareness about the issue, the ability to recognize different forms of violence, and the useful tools to seek support.
We are often inclined to believe that certain realities are far removed from our daily lives, but through knowledge of attitudes and forms of violence, we can improve our awareness of a phenomenon that is unfortunately widespread in our society and can affect all of us. The President of the Policlinico of Milan, Marco Giachetti, expresses great satisfaction with the training program undertaken by Navigazione Laghi for its personnel. This initiative has a significant sociocultural impact and rewards the organization’s foresight.
The Soccorso Violenza Sessuale e Domestica (SVSeD), a public anti-violence center within the Policlinico of Milan, is a reference point in the process of welcoming, caring for, and supporting women in difficulty. It is certain that they will provide useful and valuable insights to recognize and counter all forms of gender-based violence.
