The XV Vittoriale Award has been awarded to Vasco Rossi, an accolade given by the Vittoriale degli Italiani Foundation to artists who have distinguished themselves significantly in their field. This year, the prestigious award celebrates Vasco Rossi for his exceptional career and his impact in defining the genre of Italian rock. Giordano Bruno Guerri, president of the Foundation, highlighted how Rossi has been able to innovate and remain true to himself throughout the years.
The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 17th at 5:00 PM in the evocative setting of the Vittoriale degli Italiani, located in Gardone Riviera. The event will include a dialogue between President Guerri and Vasco Rossi, offering the singer’s fans a unique opportunity to hear firsthand reflections from their idol just before his highly anticipated tour in June, with all dates already sold out, including four consecutive concerts in Bari.
The Vittoriale Award has previously honored other prominent figures such as Ermanno Olmi, Paolo Conte, Umberto Veronesi, and Piero Angela, consolidating its role as an important recognition in the Italian cultural landscape.
Vasco Rossi’s career has deeply influenced Italian music and culture. His songs have become generational symbols, narrating stories of life, rebellion, and passion, and continue to influence and inspire. Known for his ability to combine incisive lyrics with unforgettable melodies, Rossi has proven to be an artist who is unafraid of the passage of time, but rather challenges it, maintaining an enviable freshness and energy.
As President Giordano Bruno Guerri told us, here is the official motivation for the award: “To the commander who, through his journey in life and music, invented the definition of ‘supervissuto’ [super survivor], built a genre, that of Italian rock, adapting metrics, language, and themes and breaking every mold, always had the courage to dare and challenge time while remaining true to himself. A gentle rebel capable of keeping the passion intact, enchanting generations, reflecting on his own shadows, and returning to the light using the compass of audacity.”
