A recent study has revealed that 35% of Italians have increased their use of sustainable transportation, marking a significant change compared to five years ago. The main motivations behind this choice include a new institutional approach (79%), greater environmental awareness (77%), and the desire to reduce car pollution (73%). This evolution is part of the Smart Mobility context, where advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and IoT sensors play a crucial role in optimizing traffic and managing transportation.
In particular, car sharing, utilized by 26% of the population, is gaining popularity, alongside bike and scooter sharing (23%). However, private bicycles remain the most preferred mode of transport for Italians, with a usage rate of 48%, followed by walking at 43%. The growing adoption of green solutions reflects a collective commitment to more sustainable and responsible mobility.
