The “Desenzano Hospital Committee” has renewed its request for a meeting with Mayor Guido Malinverno to discuss the future of the local healthcare facility, particularly regarding the healthcare restructuring of the Montecroce Hospital. This initiative arose following the mayor’s recent statements that appear to support opposing views on the construction of a new hospital in Desenzano. The Committee emphasizes that 7,700 citizens have already signed a petition advocating for the upgrading and modernization of the facility, highlighting the importance of not overlooking these concerns by the authorities.
Furthermore, the Committee urges for ongoing dialogue between citizens and local authorities, inviting everyone to contact the mayor to clarify the Administration’s position on the matter. They also propose submitting a request to the Lombardy Region for a new Feasibility Study aimed at assessing seismic and fire safety upgrades for the Montecroce Hospital. The Committee considers active citizen participation in healthcare decisions to be essential and hopes for an open and transparent discussion with local institutions.
