A dual incident has raised alarms regarding animal safety in the Upper Garda area, particularly in the forested region of Gambor, within the municipality of Arco. In recent days, reports have emerged of poisoned bait, with one dog displaying symptoms of poisoning and a fox found in a state of agony, likely due to ingesting the poison. Mayor Alessandro Betta has issued a public warning, urging residents to exercise “utmost caution” while walking in the area, especially if accompanied by children and pets.
The local administration has already initiated investigations through laboratory tests to identify the type of poison used and ensure the safety of the community. It is also important to note that causing suffering or death to animals is considered a crime under Article 544-bis of the penal code, highlighting the serious risks that such actions pose not only to animals but also to public health.
