The Listening Center and the Solidarity Emporium were inaugurated in Rivoltella on January 12, in the presence of approximately 350 people, including the Bishop of Verona, Monsignor Domenico Pompili, and the Mayor of Desenzano del Garda, Guido Malinverno. This new space provides a welcoming environment for solidarity shopping and relationship-building, aimed at supporting individuals in difficulty towards a path of economic autonomy. Currently, 203 families receive food assistance through consultations at the center.
The inauguration also featured the presentation of a plaque to volunteer Rolando Menghini for his fifteen years of service. The project plans for the center to remain open on the upcoming weekends to allow citizens to learn about its services and promote charitable collections. With this new approach, the Emporium no longer distributes anonymous packages but offers a dignified experience in a “minimarket” style, where users can freely choose food products through a points system.
