Alto Garda: Mayors announce increases in the tourist tax ahead of the new tourist season. Several municipalities, including Salò, Limone, and Tremosine, are planning changes to the tourist tax rates for 2024, with expected increases for overnight stays. Specifically, in Limone, hotels will implement a hike from €2 to €3.50, while other establishments will maintain their current rates. Meanwhile, Gardone Riviera and Toscolano will not see any changes in costs, while Gargnano and Tignale are considering potential adjustments for 2025. This tax, introduced between 2011 and 2012, has significantly contributed to the improvement of tourism services in the region.
Tourist arrivals in 2024 reached 1,205,904, generating approximately €1,573,597 in revenue. Local associations such as Confesercenti and Assohotel emphasize the importance of transparent management of the tourist tax and request that industry operators be involved in decisions regarding the use of the collected funds. In Salò, current hotel rates will remain unchanged, but those for residences and guesthouses will increase; in Tremosine, all categories will move to €2 except for five-star establishments.
