A German hiker was rescued yesterday afternoon, August 27, on trail 457 in Idro after sustaining an ankle injury. The woman, unable to continue, received assistance from the firefighters of the Salò station and a team from the Val Sabbia Alpine Rescue.
The recovery operations involved the use of a wheeled toboggan stretcher, which had recently been allocated and made it easier to transport the tourist safely and comfortably down the mountain. Fortunately, aside from the ankle injury, the woman did not have any other health issues.
