Coming to Lonato del Garda from April 21st to May 26th is the cultural event “Inside the Elements. Earth, Water, and Fire”, a contemporary art exhibition promoted by the Municipal Administration and the ARTantide Gallery in Verona. This unique initiative will take place at the prestigious site of the Roman Kilns, transforming the archaeological area into a vibrant exhibition space that combines art and history in a dynamic dialogue between the past and the present.
The project was conceived by curators Sandro Orlandi Stagl and Chiara Franceschini and features the participation of ten international artists including Alberto Salvetti, Marco Bertin, and Julia Bornefeld. Contemporary art becomes a means to explore themes of sustainability, the relationship between humans and the environment, and awareness, creating a dialogue between the artworks and the ancient archaeological evidence.
The exhibition aims to enhance the Roman Kilns, emphasizing the role of museums as spaces for knowledge, reflection, and cultural exchange. The exhibition spaces have been carefully curated to create an engaging emotional experience, where art and the archaeological site harmoniously interact. The site of the Roman Kilns, dating back to the 1st-2nd century AD, transforms into a historical backdrop that highlights the connection between contemporary art and cultural heritage.
Each artwork has been chosen for its ability to generate new reflections and cultural stimuli. The exhibition aims to invite visitors to reflect on the value of historical memory and the importance of preserving the past. From Julia Bornefeld’s exploration of ambivalence in human relationships to Afran’s metaphor on the proliferation of fake news, each artist offers a unique perspective, creating a bridge between historical heritage and contemporary issues.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on April 21, 2024, at 11:00 am and will remain open until May 26th. It is an unmissable opportunity to immerse oneself in a cultural experience that intimately connects art, history, and current affairs in a unique context such as the Roman Kilns of Lonato del Garda.
