The Italian National Chefs (Nic) was recently unveiled in Salò, ready to represent Italy at the prestigious Global Chefs Challenge, which will take place in Singapore. This worldwide event will see the best chefs compete from October 22 to 25, coinciding with the Worldchefs Congress & Expo.
A Prepared and Motivated Team
In recent months, the members of the National Team have undergone rigorous training sessions at Cast Alimenti in Brescia, maintaining a low profile and focused demeanor. The official presentation took place at the Colombaro Golf Club in Salò, where an apericena was hosted featuring Chef Bruno Piovanelli from the Colombaro restaurant. During the event, wines from the Delai Agricultural Company in Puegnago complemented the culinary creations served to the guests.
An Excellent Dream Team
The Italian team was selected last May and successfully passed the European selections, earning a spot in the final phase of the competition. Italy will participate in all three categories: senior, junior, and pastry. Rocco Pozzulo, president of the Italian Federation of Chefs (FIC), described this national team as “the flagship of our cuisine,” emphasizing the importance of the event for the visibility of Italian cooking on a global scale.
The Members of the Blue Team
The blue group includes talents from various regions of Italy and will be led by general manager Gianluca Tomasi. The Senior team comprises Giuseppe De Vincenzo from Bari and Andrea Serale from Cuneo. In the Junior category, Francesco Locorotondo from Bari and Luigi D’Antonio from Naples will serve as assistant. Finally, the Pastry team consists of Luca Bna’ from Modena, Mattia Sabatini from Milan, and Stefano Barghini, also from Milan, as an assistant.
Goal: Reconfirm the Title
The Italian National Chefs face a significant challenge as they will compete against the best chefs in the world in an event characterized by high-quality standards. The primary goal remains to reconfirm the title won two years ago in Dubai, once again demonstrating the quality and excellence of Italian gastronomy on a global scale.
