In the context of the year in which breakdancing makes its debut at the Olympics, the Intercommunity Youth Center Cantiere 26 in Riva del Garda is preparing to host an event that fully celebrates hip hop culture: “Knights of the Asphalt”. The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 13th, offering a day full of activities and competitions that promise to bring together young talents and enthusiasts from around the world.
After a period marked by the pandemic and the resulting social disintegration, this event represents a rebirth for the local hip hop movement. The event aims to give new energy and visibility to the youth artistic scene in Trentino through a series of performances and competitions.
A Day Dedicated to Hip Hop
The day will begin at 2:00 PM with registration at Cantiere 26. Various activities related to the world of hip hop will come to life in the outdoor fields of the center: breakdance circles, human beatboxing, freestyle writing, street art, and skateboarding will be just some of the attractions. These initiatives aim to showcase the local talents of bboys and bgirls, supporting them in the creation of an extraordinary show.
The Competition
The heart of the event will be the breakdance battle, which will take place from 4:00 PM in the event hall of Cantiere 26. Dancers will compete in two main categories: 1vs1 and 2vs2 virus. The competition will be judged by three international judges from Spain, the Netherlands, and Sweden. Two experienced speakers will narrate the entire battle, accompanied by pairs of special guests.
The semifinals and finals will begin at 9:00 PM, culminating in an engaging show that will include beatbox performances and live music. The day will conclude with a final DJ set.
