The FILA Lake Garda 42 marathon has achieved a remarkable sell-out five months in advance, drawing the attention of athletes from around the globe. The event will take place on Sunday, April 6, and will see the participation of 5,000 runners from 80 nations, with a course that winds along the beautiful shores of the lake, completely closed to traffic. Registrations were closed in the first week of December, highlighting a significant increase compared to previous editions: 800 more athletes than in 2024 and a staggering 2,300 more than in 2023.
The organization has decided to limit the number of participants to 5,000 to ensure sustainable management of the event. Among the competitors, Germany stands out as the nation with the highest number of entries, followed by Great Britain and Italy. Furthermore, the gender balance among participants is nearly equal, with a particularly strong female presence in the half marathon. This sporting event not only promotes physical activity but also boosts local tourism, making it one of the key sporting events of the season by the lake.
