The water level of Lake Garda has reached record highs, exceeding 123 cm above the hydrometric zero. Despite the current outflow of 130 cubic meters per second from the Salionze regulating facility, inflows remain elevated, averaging 194 cubic meters per second. Pierlucio Ceresa, the Secretary General of the Garda Community, has expressed concern over the situation, particularly with the rain forecasted in the coming days.
To manage the emergency, a decision has been made to increase the overall outflow to 140 cubic meters per second. This measure will take effect this afternoon and may be further increased tomorrow if levels do not decrease adequately. Managing water flows is crucial to prevent potential damage caused by excess water in the Garda basin.
