Recent monitoring conducted on five discharges into the lake in the Desenzano area has revealed alarming results regarding water quality. City Councilor Andrea Spiller stated that every day, water mixed with sewage ends up in the lake, highlighting pollution levels that exceed established limits. Sampling, carried out during three distinct periods of the year and away from rainy events, showed that some discharge points consistently exhibit high levels of contamination, suggesting a persistent problem within the local sewage network.
The monitoring identified specific problematic areas, such as the Villa de Asmundis canal and lungolago C. Battisti, where sewage could flow into the lake year-round. Spiller emphasized the importance of reviving efforts to enhance the sewage system and urged the municipal administration to seek the necessary investments to improve the current situation. In response to these concerning results, further control initiatives are expected to address this environmental issue, which is considered a priority for the community.
