A major project aimed at the revitalization of the wastewater treatment and collection system in the Lake Garda basin is nearing completion, with the final plan expected to be presented by December 2024. The president of the Garda Community, Mariastella Gelmini, announced that construction is slated to begin in 2025 and will last between five and six years. An authorization process is planned that will involve the mayors of the affected municipalities, with the goal of minimizing disruptions to traffic during the works.
Additionally, a memorandum of understanding for the “Safety Service for Navigators on Lake Garda” has been approved, involving various local and regional entities. The annual funding amounts to 38,000 euros from the Garda Idro Basin Authority, with additional contributions from the Veneto Region and the Autonomous Province of Trento. This agreement aims to enhance safety in navigation on the lake, addressing the needs of tourists and local operators.
