The final leg of the Optimist Zonale Championship took place in the Gulf of Salò on November 10, on a day marked by sunshine and unusually high temperatures for the season. The event, organized by the Canottieri Garda, saw the participation of 80 young sailors divided into three divisions: A (juniors), B (cadets), and Giocovela, with winds ranging between 4.5 and 6.5 knots allowing for one of the three scheduled races to be completed.
The top two positions in Division A were claimed by Canottieri Garda athletes Luca Bonizzoni and Nicola Guani, while Marta Bonadimani Candela (Fraglia Vela Peschiera) secured third place as the first female competitor. In Division B, Michael Paghera (Fraglia Vela Desenzano) emerged victorious, followed by Stefania Cerasale and Elia Giacoboni. Marco Maroni, president of Canottieri Garda, expressed his satisfaction with the successful execution of the event after more than ten years since the last similar regatta in Salò. Mayor Francesco Cagnini was also present during the awards ceremony.
