Limone sul Garda has triumphed in the international competition “Communities in Bloom,” winning the highest accolade of five red flowers out of five in the 30th edition of the event, which took place on October 19 in Charlottetown, Canada. The municipality, represented by councilors Matteo Segala, Gabriela Rosa, and Sofia Bernardi, was the only Italian participant this year and also received a special mention for the “Ciclopista del Garda” project, earning a silver medal in the “Small Communities” category.
The judges evaluated the cities based on criteria such as environmental awareness and the preservation of natural heritage. The cycle path, inaugurated in 2018, has become a symbol of sustainable tourism, with over 2 million crossings recorded by 2023, demonstrating the positive impact of eco-friendly initiatives on the community and the environment.
