The LiceAliCup, held on November 13 and 14 at the Circolo Vela in Torbole, showcased two young talents from the Liceo Scientifico Sportivo Sacra Famiglia in Brenzone: Pietro Zandri and Francesco Arosio. The boys, already known for their performances in other sailing competitions, demonstrated their skills aboard the Birdyfish, “flying” boats provided by SeaChange. During the two days of racing, characterized by ideal conditions with winds ranging from 12 to 18 knots, the six participating teams competed in the local waters, culminating in Zandri and Arosio’s victory, securing the overall first place.
The podium of the LiceAliCup saw Massimo Perini from the Società Canottieri Garda Salò and Ludovico Beretta from the Fraglia Vela Riva taking second place, while Federico Bonalana and Pietro Chetta claimed third. The event received praise for its impeccable organization and the innovative choice of flying boats, emphasizing the importance of support for youth sports. Various institutional figures commended the initiative as a crucial step in strengthening the connection between sports and educational training, highlighting how similar events can contribute to students’ personal growth through values such as teamwork and determination.
