Lonato del Garda is preparing to experience a summer full of events and festivals, with a calendar that promises to satisfy a variety of tastes. The summer season of 2024 will feature a range of initiatives, from concerts to jazz festivals, as well as outdoor theater and cinema.
The music festival “Classica a Sant’Antonio,” organized by the Friends of the Church of Sant’Antonio Abate under the artistic direction of Maestro Giuseppe Laffranchini, has already begun on Sunday, May 12th. The upcoming concerts are scheduled for Sundays, May 19th and 26th, with the final concert on June 2nd. All events will take place at the Church of Sant’Antonio Abate in the historic center at 5:00 PM.
Mariangela Musci, Councilor for Culture, Tourism, and Events, expressed great enthusiasm for Lonato’s summer program. This year, the municipal administration has joined the “Bike Tour” project, which offers mountain bike excursions twice a week from May to September. Every Wednesday, the Valtenesi Bike Tour will take place, and every Saturday, the Via Morenica Bike Tour, both led by cycling experts.
The Association “Filosofi Lungo l’Oglio” returns to Lonato del Garda with a conference held by Father Enzo Bianchi at the Basilica of San Giovanni Battista. This event is part of the “Filosofi Lungo l’Oglio” Festival dedicated to the theme of “Desire.” Additionally, the collaboration with the “Bottega della Lirica” continues with the performance of the comic opera “Don Pasquale” by G. Donizetti, scheduled for Wednesday, July 31st, in the evocative setting of the Rocca.
Among the established initiatives, we find “Cinema in Giardino,” which offers four film evenings in July at the Gardens of Casa del Podestà. Another highly anticipated event is “Lonato in Festival,” scheduled for the second weekend of August at the Rocca Visconteo-Veneta.
Piazza Martiri della Libertà will come alive with musical tributes to Lucio Battisti and Michael Jackson in August. The Music Corps of Lonato del Garda will offer a band concert, while Max Carella will present the show “Soul Express.”
Closing the summer season will be the third edition of the “Jazz Festival” in collaboration with the Caligola Association. The jazz events will take place on the evenings of September 6th, 7th, and 8th at 9:00 PM in Piazzetta Vittorio Emanuele II.
Mayor Roberto Tardani invites everyone to participate in the events: “We now pass the baton to you and we look forward to seeing many of you to share together this very interesting and lively season.” Have a great summer!
