On the occasion of Earth Day, which was celebrated on April 22nd, the Lonato del Garda Municipal Administration promoted the fourth photography contest with the theme “The Importance of Trees”. Participants have until Sunday, May 5th to submit their photos to the email address ecologia2@comune.lonato.bs.it.
The contest focuses on the fundamental role of trees in cities as a tool to counteract the effects of climate change, lower temperatures, absorb CO2, and improve the comfort of citizens. Trees not only contribute to the physical and mental health of people but also provide spaces for relaxation, physical activity, and contact with nature, reducing stress.
Photos can be taken with any device and must portray the trees that adorn the city of Lonato. Each participant must send their photos accompanied by their full name to the email address provided by May 5th.
A jury of industry professionals will review the received photographs and select the three winners. These winners will have the honor of having their photos published on the official Facebook page of the Municipal Administration and will receive a certificate as recognition of their talent.
Mayor Roberto Tardani emphasizes the importance of stimulating citizens’ perception of the environment around them and promoting values and measures related to sustainability and combating climate change. Earth Day represents an opportunity to raise awareness among the population on these issues and promote concrete actions aimed at preserving our planet.
