An enthusiastic New Year’s swim in Maderno saw the participation of 115 brave souls who plunged into the lake on January 1st at 11:00 AM, despite the water temperature being around 11 degrees Celsius and the air temperature hovering around 8 degrees. The event, organized by Alido Cavazzoni, a former trader and promoter of the group “Those Who Swim All Year Round,” attracted hundreds of spectators eager to cheer on the swimmers. Among the participants were both veterans from past editions and newcomers, some of whom had to make a hasty retreat to the shore just moments after entering the water.
The gathering also drew many visitors from outside the province, including temporary residents and tourists, with the presence of some foreigners, including Germans and an Irishman who participated for the third time. The event took place near the former equestrian field, creating a lively and festive atmosphere to welcome the new year with this traditional winter challenge.
