The third edition of the Malcesine Baldo Trail confirms itself as a must-attend event for trail running enthusiasts. Taking place on May 4th and 5th in Malcesine, the event is seeing an increasing number of international athletes participating, showcasing its global recognition.
This year, the partnership with the ASICS brand enters its third year and is enriched with the launch of the “Trail Élite Factory.” This project aims to discover new talents in the world of trail running, offering them a unique opportunity for professional growth under the guidance of experts and athletes in the field. Elena Bosticardo, Head of Marketing at ASICS Italy, emphasizes the importance of the initiative in promoting sport as a vehicle for mental and physical well-being.
The Malcesine Baldo Trail offers three different distances: 50km, 24km, and 16km. The main race of 50km offers a course that winds through the mountains on the border between Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige, passing through the municipalities of Malcesine, Brentonico, and Avio. A distinctive feature of this edition is the introduction of an improved route for the 24km race, promising a less challenging descent thanks to the suggestions of local runners. Finally, the shorter 16km race features paths and dirt roads with a suggestive finish along the lakeside.
The maximum time to complete the various distances ranges from 3 to 12 hours, making the challenges accessible to both beginners and experienced trail runners.
Technical details of the races:
– Ultra: 50km distance with a positive elevation gain of 3,355 meters; starting at 7:30 am.
– Medium: 24km route with a positive elevation gain of 1,994 meters; starting at 8:30 am.
