Marcell Jacobs concluded his participation in the 60-meter indoor final in Boston with a disappointing fourth place, clocking in at 6.63 seconds. This event, part of the World Indoor Tour, marked the Italian athlete’s seasonal debut in the 60 meters, but it did not yield the expected results. The victory went to American sprinter Noah Lyles, who crossed the finish line in 6.52 seconds, followed by Terrence Jones and Pj Austin.
Jacobs’ performance was unconvincing from the start; in the heats, he finished third with a time of 6.69 seconds, behind Bromell and Pj Austin, both at 6.63 seconds. This result represents his worst performance in the 60 meters since 2017 and marks a return to competition after a long period of absence. Despite the challenges, Jacobs was able to advance to the final due to the withdrawal of Nigerian athlete Onwuzurike because of injury.
