Mattia Del Fiandra, an 18-year-old from Desenzano, has claimed the title of world vice-champion in the Junior (Under 18) category at the recent IWWF World Championships held in China. This achievement marks a significant conclusion to the young Italian wakeboard talent’s 2024 season, as he shone alongside Team Italy, which secured the gold medal among 25 participating nations.
In the final held on Lake Xiang near Hangzhou, Del Fiandra reached the second step of the podium, finishing behind fellow countryman Federico Dal Lago. With this success, the young athlete is now preparing for a break until the competition resumes in March/April, focusing on athletic training for his first professional season.
