The Desenzani Park in Castiglione delle Stiviere is transforming into a lively center for environmental activities and education to celebrate our planet on the weekend of April 21st and 22nd. The event, filled with events and workshops, aims to raise awareness among both adults and children about the importance of biodiversity and respect for the environment.
The day on Sunday, April 21st starts at 9:30 am and continues until 6:00 pm, with the official inauguration scheduled for 11:00 am. This will be followed by a colorful folk dance performance organized by the Tsambal Cultural Dance Association, which will liven up the atmosphere starting at 11:30 am.
The program offers a variety of workshops and activities designed to engage children, teenagers, and families. Among these, “Plants from around the World,” curated by Alkémica Cooperativa Sociale Onlus, explores the secrets and properties of plants. “Riciàpa! Not everything is meant to be thrown away” is an activity focused on recycling and creativity, while “A penguin in the desert” addresses climate change. Important observations about the forest ecosystem are proposed by the National Carabinieri Biodiversity Center “Bosco Fontana.” The program also includes thematic readings aboard the Bibliobus and specific activities for the youngest participants, such as “Everyone down to the ground” by the Municipal Nursery School “Il Cucciolo.”
Naturalistic excursions and guided walks are organized by the Volunteer Ecological Guards of the Mincio Park and Alkémica Cooperativa Sociale Onlus, allowing participants to discover the beauty of the Morenic Complex SIC Park and the Desenzani Park. A theatrical performance titled “T’imballo,” curated by Zero Beat Società Cooperativa, will take place at 5:30 pm, further enriching the program.
In anticipation of the Giro d’Italia, two competitions will be held: “Pink Picnic” and “Pink Bike,” with awards scheduled for May 18th. These events celebrate sports and the environment in a combination of creativity and passion for cycling.
On April 22nd, in the Garden of the Municipal Library “A. Sigurtà,” the “Arborea” workshop will take place, aimed at children aged 6 to 11. Here, readings and creative activities will introduce young participants to the world of plants.
Tastings of local products will not be missing, with the presence of the Confraternity of Capunsel di Solferino and the Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori offering samples of Grana dei prati stabili and local wines. DE.CO MALFATTI and DE.CO Salame nostrano, typical products of Castiglione delle Stiviere, will also be the protagonists of this event dedicated to sustainability and local culture.
