Two hikers were rescued by the alpine rescue team on the eastern ridge of Monte Pizzoccolo, at an altitude of 1400 meters. The operation concluded around 7 pm last Friday, thanks to the activation of the V Delegazione Bresciana, Stazione di Valle Sabbia.
The Cnsas technicians were conducting a training exercise in the area and quickly reached the stranded individuals. During the ascent, they encountered two other people who also required assistance. All individuals were safely accompanied, first to the summit and then down to the valley, using a short rope for maximum safety. The Fire Brigade also participated in the rescue operation.
This intervention once again highlights the importance of the preparation and experience of alpine rescuers in ensuring the safety of hikers in the mountains. It is crucial to be aware of one’s limits and the weather conditions before embarking on a mountain hike, in order to avoid dangerous situations that require the assistance of specialized teams.
Monte Pizzoccolo is a popular destination for hiking enthusiasts in the Lake Garda area. Its eastern ridge offers breathtaking views but also requires good physical and technical preparation. It is important to undertake these hikes with the appropriate equipment and to follow the guidance of alpine rescuers to ensure one’s safety.
