MuscoTrail in Muscoline Memorial Antonello Restuccia had a successful first edition. The first competitive trail running race in the Brescia calendar attracted 150 athletes in the competitive category and over 600 in the non-competitive category. The event was organized by the local group Running Muscoline, with the support of the Municipality of Muscoline and the Provincial Sports Committee Libertas of Brescia.
The competitive race covered a distance of 12 km with a positive elevation gain of 300 m. The athletes described the course as technical and challenging. Mauro Balzi from GS Orobie took first place, completing the race in 48.09. Andrea Bonetti from Atletica Gavardo 90 (49.30) and Nicola Porcu, also from Atletica Gavardo 90 (49.32), finished second and third, respectively.
In the women’s race, Silvia Casella from Atletica Gavardo 90 emerged victorious, finishing the course in 56.49. The women’s podium was completed by Cristina Filippini from Us Malonno (58.46) and Monica Giordani from Lagarina Crus Team (59.47).
The organization of the event was excellent, and the weather conditions were favorable, with no rain during the race. Numerous awards were given out for different categories, including a special prize for the interregional competition for Libertas members. During the award ceremony, Antonello Restuccia, a friend and athlete of Running Muscoline, was remembered, and the competitive race was dedicated to him.
The next edition of MuscoTrail is scheduled for 2025.
