Motorists traveling on the A4 Milan-Venice highway can expect disruptions over the weekend due to construction work on the high-speed rail overpass. The section between the Desenzano and Sirmione exits will be closed in both directions from 10 pm on Saturday, June 15, until 6 am on Sunday, June 16. During this time, the entrance ramps at the Desenzano exit heading towards Venice and the Sirmione exit heading towards Milan will also be closed.
Motorists will need to follow alternative routes: those heading to Venice will need to exit at Desenzano and take the Regional Road 11 until rejoining the highway at the Sirmione exit, while those heading to Milan will need to take the reverse route. This temporary closure is necessary to allow for the completion of work on the Tav overpass at kilometer 247+650, a crucial intervention to improve high-speed rail infrastructure in the region.
