The Local Salami Competition returns to Montichiari after the success of its previous editions, promising an exciting challenge to determine the best salami in the area. The event will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the V. Pezzaioli Association’s tensile structure located in Trivelli. During the event, organized by the Montichiari Alpine Group, the proceeds from the dinner featuring spit-roasted meat will be allocated to the restoration and maintenance of historical monuments dedicated to the fallen in wars.
Participation in the competition is free and open to family producers, farms, and workshops that adhere to traditional salami production techniques. Each contestant may submit two salamis: one for the jury and one for the public during the final dinner. The jury will consist of expert tasters and representatives from the Municipal Administration, who will award prizes for the best salamis produced in Montichiari. With a maximum of 40 participants and specific requirements regarding aging and weight of the salamis, the event is set to be an important celebration of the local gastronomic tradition.
