Last Sunday, a group of over 60 volunteers actively participated in the “360 Path Cleanup,” an ecological walk organized by 360Gardalife in Malcesine, on Lake Garda. The initiative brought together residents and tourists of all ages, united by a common goal of cleaning up the local area.
Collective Commitment to the Environment
Divided into various groups, participants scoured beaches and nature trails, successfully collecting over 220 kilograms of waste. Among the items collected were plastic remnants, cigarette butts, glass bottles, tires, and abandoned construction materials. This situation highlights the urgent need to further raise public awareness about environmental protection and the safeguarding of natural areas, which are often neglected and subjected to uncivil behaviors.
A Call for Environmental Responsibility
Angela Trawoeger, founder of the 360Gardalife association, along with Alice Zorzi, co-creator of the “360 Path Cleanup” event, expressed gratitude to all the volunteers for their extraordinary commitment to environmental conservation. In a joint statement, they said: “As Thom Yorke said, if we really want to change our world, we must be able to imagine a better one. This is precisely what we aim to achieve with our ecological days.”
Youth Participation
A particularly significant aspect was the active presence of children and young participants. The organizers emphasized how exciting it is to see the younger generations involved in these ecological initiatives. These youths represent the future of land conservation and will be called upon to preserve the natural beauty of Lake Garda in the years to come.
