Padenghe sul Garda has recently achieved the EMAS environmental certification, a significant milestone that recognizes the municipality’s commitment to promoting sustainable tourism. After more than three years of work, which began in October 2021, Mayor Albino Zuliani emphasized that this prestigious recognition will benefit not only tourists but also local residents. With this certification, Padenghe joins a select group of municipalities in the Brescia area of Lake Garda, committing to improve environmental performance through measurable objectives that are monitored annually.
The journey towards EMAS registration involved the establishment of a dedicated working group, coordinated by industry experts and supported by Spinlife, a spin-off of the University of Padua. This project has facilitated better internal communication and collaboration among various municipal offices, with the ultimate goal of balancing tourism appeal with the quality of life for local residents. The mayor concluded by highlighting the importance of maintaining a livable environment for citizens while developing tourism in the region.
