Padenghe sul Garda has achieved EMAS registration, a significant milestone for the municipality, representing the most advanced European environmental quality label. After more than three years of work, initiated in October 2021, the administration has successfully completed the certification process according to the EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) regulation. Mayor Albino Zuliani emphasized that this recognition not only positions Padenghe among the few municipalities in the Brescia area of Lake Garda to hold such certification, but also contributes to promoting sustainable tourism and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
The path to registration involved a dedicated working group, coordinated by a municipal technician and supported by experts from the University of Padua. The administration’s environmental policy is now translated into measurable objectives, with periodic checks conducted by external bodies. Councilor Giancarlo Allegri highlighted that this achievement represents both a destination and a new beginning for the commitment to sustainability. By focusing on thematic areas such as water usage and energy consumption, Padenghe is preparing to face future challenges in the spirit of environmental responsibility.
