In Polpenazze, the mobilization against the 5G antenna has already gathered over 300 signatures in just a few days, demonstrating strong opposition from the local community. Today, petition stands have returned to the square, where citizens can sign until noon. The new antenna, which will be 18 meters tall and is planned for a private area on Via Valle, has raised concerns about public health and the environmental impact on the surrounding territory, characterized by vineyards and olive groves.
The municipality has taken a stand against the project by initiating a Strategic Environmental Assessment (Vas), with a public assembly scheduled for tomorrow evening featuring physicist Stefano Roletti. The request for the installation of the infrastructure was submitted by Inwit Spa on behalf of Tim as part of the public tender Italia 5G, funded by the Pnrr. Mayor Maria Rosa Avanzini has urged citizens to continue signing the petition and to submit reasoned objections until April 10, expressing her intention to firmly oppose the project, potentially through an appeal to the administrative court.
