Prevalle: Commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day at Palazzo Moroni
The Municipality of Prevalle is preparing to honor Holocaust Remembrance Day with a significant event scheduled for Sunday, January 26, at 5:00 PM, at the prestigious Palazzo Moroni. This initiative is dedicated to commemorating the victims of the Holocaust and aims to keep alive the historical memory associated with tragic events of the past.
The meeting will center around the presentation of the book “Gli Ebrei di Mocasina” by Paolo Catterina. The work addresses delicate and poignant themes, including the stories of Alfratelli Raoule Assalonne Natan, who were arrested on December 12, 1943, and subsequently deported to Auschwitz. Their memory is honored through the stumbling stones placed at the gate of the Readaelli de Zinis property, located in the Basse di Calvagese della Riviera.
During the event, Maestro Fabrizio Landi will read selected passages from the book, accompanied by music from Luigo Bonizzardi. This moment not only celebrates the memory of the victims but also serves as a reflection on the civic and moral responsibilities we all share in preserving historical truth. It is important to highlight that the informants of the Natan family members were citizens of the same municipality of Prevalle; although their names are not revealed in the event’s flyer, this aspect underscores a complex and painful part of local history.
The meeting represents an opportunity for the community to come together in collective remembrance and to deepen the necessary understanding needed to build a more aware and respectful future.
