Tignale commenced today, Thursday, February 6th, the removal of explosive devices discovered in the lake, specifically in the Prà dela Fam area. The operations were initiated after three devices were spotted at a depth of approximately 20 meters by a diver during a dive. Following the report, Mayor Daniele Bonassi issued an ordinance to suspend navigation and prohibit swimming, scuba diving, fishing, and access to the affected area.
This morning, Army bomb disposal experts and the Navy’s mine clearance unit conducted a joint operation, supported by the Coast Guard and law enforcement agencies. The primary objective is to ensure the safety of the lake by clearing the area and subsequently detonating the explosive devices.
