Tignale began today, Thursday, February 6, the removal of explosive devices discovered in the lake, particularly in the area known as Prà dela Fam. The operations were initiated after three devices were spotted at a depth of approximately 20 meters by a diver during a dive. Following this report, Mayor Daniele Bonassi issued an ordinance to suspend navigation and prohibit swimming, scuba diving, fishing, and access to the affected area.
This morning, the Army’s bomb disposal experts and the Navy’s mine clearance unit carried out a joint operation, supported by the Coast Guard and law enforcement agencies. The primary objective is to ensure the safety of the lake by clearing the area and subsequently detonating the explosive devices.
