The State Road 421, connecting Riva del Garda to Tenno, is expected to reopen on Monday, October 14, provided there are no further unforeseen events. The road was closed on Thursday evening due to a landslide that affected the entire roadway.
Current Situation
The landslide occurred downstream of the village of Tenno, causing a blockage of the traffic flow. During an inspection carried out by technicians from the Road Management Service and the Geological Service of the Province, significant water infiltration was discovered at the base of a municipal road located above the state road. This phenomenon raised concerns about the risk of further landslides in the area already affected by the collapse.
Ongoing Interventions
Throughout the weekend, the clearing and cleaning operations continued without interruption. However, the heavy rainfall on the eroded section necessitated a precautionary decision by the relevant authorities to keep the state road closed until Monday. It is expected that the reopening will occur with a one-way alternating traffic system to ensure greater safety for road users.
Alternative Routes
For those needing to travel in the area, the agricultural road of Pil is also closed. As an alternative, motorists can use Provincial Road 37 of Mount Tombio to avoid the section currently undergoing work.
These measures have been communicated by the Mayor of Tenno, Giuliano Marocchi, through official channels to keep citizens informed about developments in the road situation and the related precautions in place.
